For our next project...
Jackson's bedroom was starting to look "too little" for him. He has had it since he was a baby. Anyway, we decided to make his room look more like a little boy's room. We let him pick out his bedding and without hesitation he picked the Star Wars bedding from Pottery Barn. I tried to convince him to get the sports or dog bedding, but I did not win. It is his room, so I guess it would be fair to let him pick. We have almost all of the bedding, but some of it is on back order. Unfortunately his room will have to be painted again because the blue it is now will not match. I don't think I will ask Steven to do it for a little while! He might kill me! Anyway, below is a picture of what we ordered.

The start of Jackson's new room.
We can't wait for it all to get here....and to paint!!

Finally Finished!!
After nearly a week, we are finished with Kendall's room. Steven was determined to finish last night and worked on it until 5:30am! I went to bed around 1:00am because I had to be a work at 6:45. This is the third night we have been up to atleast 1-2:00am. I am not a coffee drinker but I have had quite a bit the last three days at work!! Kendall is happy to be back in her room. She loves it!

not sure why this picture is so dark...probably the window.

Shark!!
This is Jackson's Halloween costume. He loves it!!

Kendall was upset that her mermaid costume didn't come, so Jackson let her wear his.

Update!!
I just finished painting for the night. I still have some white dots to paint...I will have to do that tomorrow.

Kendall's Room
We started painting Kendall's room yesterday. She wanted it painted pink and we decided to put up wainscoting too. Her comforter is light pink with green, chocolate, white, and a brighter pink polka dots. So, I decided to paint some polka dots on the wall (definitely not many). It is a very slow process. I started with the green dots and have done only a few chocolate ones. I think it will look very cute if we ever get finished!!
This is one of Kendall's pillows
The wall and one of my green dots.
a chocolate one too!!
I will definitely post a "finished" picture when we finish!!

1st day of school!!
Today was Jackson & Kendall's 1st day of preschool. They woke up very easily and we were actually early getting there(very, very rare for us). Since Jackson is in the readiness class, he stays a little longer than Kendall. The first thing Jackson said when he got in the car was "Did you have a good day, Kendall?" She said "Yeah, I did." Kendall's teacher said she had a great 1st day, so I guess there were no major behavior problems!! Of course Jackson did great and apparently had art class today because his shirt had quite a bit of red paint on it! They are ready to go back tomorrow! It was very strange for me to be alone! We are painting Kendall's bedroom today, so I had a good opportunity to go buy the paint without any interruptions! I can't believe I'm saying it...but, I was almost lonely!!
Jackson & Kendall
Kendall took her "pink blankie that makes noises" to leave in the car so she could have it when I picked her up.
Apparently the sun was in their eyes!

Progress...
I got some really good ideas on what to do with Jackson's window. Thank you to Sunny & Julie! We are definitely ordering blinds for it. My Memee and Mom read the entry regarding the window and while I was at work they found a quick fix...they covered it with some sort of brown paper. Anyway, it worked and Jackson slept in his room for the first time last night. Kendall decided to give his room a try since he had been sleeping in her room for so long.
So sweet!
The quick fix...I can't wait to get the blinds.

Jackson found some snakes.
Drawing a picture for his art teacher, Mrs. Knoll.

Open House
We went to open house this afternoon at Wesley Day School. Jackson and Kendall were both very exctied to see their new classrooms. Kendall walked into Mrs. "Garden's" classroom, found her cubby and put her blanket in it and was off to play. She immediately found the kitchen and the cooking began. There are a lot of little girls in her class...8 to be exact and only 2 boys!! I feel sorry for the boys! Kendall did not want to leave and was dissapointed that we would not be leaving her. They go half a day on Monday and Tuesday and then all day on Wednesday. Kendall also got to check out the art & music rooms. I will post some pictures from Jackson's classroom too!

Today we had home visits for Wesley Day School. Jackson will be in the readiness class and Kendall will be starting her first year in the 3 year old class. Jackson told Kendall that they have a time-out chair at school and she would be in a lot!! I'm afraid he is right! Jackson wanted to have his picture taken with his teacher, Mrs. Cherry in front of the cactus in his room. Kendall, on the other hand, refused to have her picture taken with her teacher, Mrs. Gardner. The visit went well though. Kendall did insist that she watch her teacher leave...she wanted to "see your car." We have open house on Wednesday, so maybe I can get a picture of Kendall and her teacher then.

The Problem
So here is the window. I love it and think it is very pretty, but Jackson is scared of it. I want it to still look nice, but maybe with a shade or something? Obviously I need help. The second picture is of Jackson sleeping in Kendall's bed tonight. She always sleeps in a sleeping bag at the foot of her bed(weird, I know), so Jackson is sleeping the "normal" way. Actually, I don't mind them sleeping this way at all IF they go to sleep. It's not that big of a deal if they don't now, but when school starts they must be alseep sooner, rather than later. Let me know if you have any suggestions!!
Who needs a bed?
For almost a month now Jackson has been too scared to sleep in his bed. He has a half circle window over his big window and it does not have anything to cover it up at bedtime. So, he thinks that someone is going to climb up there at look at him, shoot him, or something equally devastating. Poor Jax. I remember being scared to sleep in my bed as a child, so It is very hard for me to leave him in there. He has been sleeping with Kendall, but in the middle of the night he sneaks into our room and makes a "bed" in our chair. He looks comfortable, but it can't be as comfy as his bed. Any ideas on how to cover the window tastefully? I will post a picture of his window too.
Fun with Kerrigan & Anna in the pool!
We had so much with cousins, Kerrigan and Anna during their visit to Tennessee. We miss you!!

Look out Foothills Gymnastics!!

We registered Jackson & Kendall for gymnastics this fall. It took Kendall a long time to decide between gymnastics and ballet. Jackson is signed up for soccer, but after the open house/registration at gymnastics today he decided he would like to do both. Kendall is in a preschool class and Jackson is in an all boys class. They are both very excited and did not want to leave today. They start next week! Kendall got a new leotard today. She loves it so much she won't take it off!

Our friend, Mandy Street took some more pictures for us. These are of Jackson, Kendall, and their cousin, River. Jackson and River were great...Kendall was not so great, but the pictures turned out great! I will post all of the pictures from the session on our Shutterfly site.
